The meeting was called to order at 13:50 by President Mike Duke, K5XU at the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis. Approximately 33 people were present including several interested in Amateur Radio.
Pat Tice, WA0TDA, Executive Director of Handihams, gave us a wonderful talk about the Handiham camp and about his experiences living in the Bahamas, and with Amateur Radio through college. Pat and his friend Don W0DN founded The Butternut vertical antenna!
Handiham Camp in Minnesota is really special; campers learn about Amateur radio and also have lots of recreational activities. Any campers who pass their Technician license while there will be provided with an HT!
Pat told us about what Handihams produces: manuals at
http://www.handiham.org/manuals,
audio lessons about Amateur Radio, study materials in various formats, QST digest, QCWA digest, and lots more. Go to
http://www.handiham.org.
